Outlook – November

here is my outlook article for the FUGE for November…

Christianity – All the time…

As we live our Christian lives, we need to always set a Godly example.  We may want to do something great for God, yet if we are not careful of how we live our daily lives we will do more harm than good.  Matthew 26:41 and Mark 14:38 says “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”  Our intentions may be right, but I think as humans, we often forget that our choices never affect only us.  If we go out to minister and witness, we must always reflect Christ.  If people don’t know that we are Christians then we are not living a life that reflects Christ.  However, if people do know that we are Christians, they must always see us living a life that reflects Christ.  We cannot live as the world does if we want to change the world.  If we tell people to live like Christ and they see us, even in one small instance living like the world, we’ve done more harm than good.  We will have not only proved that we don’t practice what we preach, but we will insure them that we don’t fully believe it.  As Paul said in 1Corinthians 11:1 – “Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.”  If we are not imitating Christ always we are leading others astray and God warns greatly against doing this.  We greatly underestimate the impact that we have on other’s choices and views.
